“An apple a day keeps the doctor away”

The adage, “an apple a day keeps the doctor away,” has been found to be more than true. In fact, it has been proven to be both one of nature’s best antioxidants and a friend to anyone who wants healthy hair and skin. Rich in Vitamin A, B, and C it’s skin and hair’s super food right at your fingertips.

Apples, green in particular, are great for toning and reviving tired, stressed skin. Their natural antioxidants work to fight off the free radical damage we’re exposed to every day and are especially healing if you’ve had just a little too much sun! Add wheat germ to the mix and you’ve got a ten minute mask that will give you some exfoliation and leave your skin supple and glowing.

Here’s how we do it at home:
Grate or puree an apple of your choosing so that you have a tablespoon worth of apple. In a small bowl mix with a tablespoon of wheat germ (or as much as you need to get the consistency of a paste). Apply this to a freshly washed face and leave on for ten minutes. Enjoy!
For additional variations try mixing apple with honey to a paste-like consistency and leave on for ten minutes for some extra nutrient-rich hydration. And as always, make sure you follow up with your favorite moisturizer after your at home treatment.
